Eco-Friendly Decor: Cube-Shaped Rails on Facades and Canopies

Eco-Friendly Decor: Cube-Shaped Rails on Facades and Canopies
Expired
Typically, cube-shaped ceiling rails are known for their dual role: enhancing aesthetics while serving practical purposes like hiding communications and facilitating air circulation within a room. However, in this article, we explore their use purely for decorative purposes.

In KRAFT’s designs, the cube-shaped rail seamlessly integrates into the facade and the canopy of an upper-floor terrace, creating unique and eye-catching accents. Let’s dive deeper into each of these design elements.

The terrace boasts a modern and elegant design that instantly captivates. Its simplicity exudes a sense of calm and relaxation. Clean lines and refined shapes lend the space a contemporary aesthetic. The slats above the terrace cast playful shadows, provide partial sun protection, and add texture and dynamic appeal.
The glass canopy over the terrace effectively protects against rain while allowing sunlight to filter through. To enhance the sense of security and comfort, a white cube-shaped rail, measuring 34×45 mm, is installed beneath the glass. For a sleeker aesthetic, KRAFT’s universal traverse system was omitted during installation, replaced by single fasteners. This approach ensures the slats are evenly spaced without being constrained by the traverse pitch.

While wooden slats could have been an alternative, we highlight two key advantages of using KRAFT cube-shaped metal rails:

  1. Made from high-quality galvanized steel with a polymer coating, they minimize the risk of corrosion.
  2. Opting for metal over wood is an excellent choice for those committed to eco-friendly and sustainable design.

The result? A stunning and functional seating area that blends beauty with purpose.

The building facade stands out with its modern and stylish design, skillfully incorporating cube-shaped slats as cladding. Black horizontal slats create a striking dynamic relief, adding depth and contrasting beautifully with lighter elements. White vertical inserts bring an air of elegance and visually elongate the building, ensuring it stands out in the surrounding landscape.

For this facade, cube-shaped rails measuring 35×35 mm with a pitch of 52 mm were chosen. This specific height reduces wind load on the structure, enhancing its stability.

Important: In areas with high wind loads, additional fasteners are required. Before incorporating cube-shaped rails into your facade design, consult our specialists to ensure optimal safety and performance.

In summary, KRAFT cube-shaped rails are a fantastic choice for creating facades that are both fresh and modern, balancing decorative appeal with functionality.
